Dear St Botolph’s Church Representative
I am a volunteer for the National Bats in Church Study, which is a citizen science survey run by the Bats in Church Project. Church of England are partners, working alongside Natural England, Historic England, The Churches Conservation Trust and Bat Conservation Trust.
I hope to get your permission to survey your church for evidence of bats and to arrange a time to meet to go through a questionnaire, to get your insight into the church and any bat history. The aim is to better understand how bats use churches in England and the impact (both positive and negative) of it for those caring for and using the church.
I can send you a letter written by the project, which includes a more detailed description of the survey. Don’t worry if you don’t think there are bats using the church, these records are just as important.
Best wishes, Trudie Mills

Dear Trudie, thank you for contacting the Helpston.net website. I have forwarded your message to the Churchwarden of St Botolph’s, Clive Pearce, who will no doubt be able to respond to your request.
